5Super light, Super ExpensiveJul 03, 2010
When you are shaving grams off your pack, replacing alkaline batteries with lithium is a good option if you don't mind the expense of paying over $1.00 per battery. Lithium batteries have an exceptionally long shelf life and work in cold weather where alkaline batteries go flat.

5GREAT FOR MP3 PLAYERS !!!Mar 13, 2010
Still on first battery: has lasted more than 2 weeks so far in an Sansa MP3 player that used to eat a battery every 3 days...The player is kept on about 6 hrs per day while the owner operates a commercial sewing machine.

5E Squared Batteries Have Been Phased OutMar 04, 2010
It's important to note that Energizer has discontinued the "e^2 (e squared)" line of Lithium batteries, and the item shipping now is named "Energizer Ultimate Lithium."

As other customers have mentioned, it is important to note that the TSA has banned *spare* primary lithium and lithium-ion batteries from *checked* baggage - you can still take them as carry-on items though.

Other than that, like many people my experience with Lithium batteries has been mixed. I wish Energizer would release a line of rechargeable Lithium batteries to supplement these disposable ones.

That being said however, for "high-tech" items that I use frequently (like my bluetooth mouse) and LED flashlight, I find that using Lithium batteries saves me from having to swap in new batteries all the time and that, in general, the devices seem to work better, brighter, etc.

One last, notable, advantage I've found using Lithium batteries is that they also send to work better in the cold. Especially up here in New England when it's below zero outside and you're trying to find something in the dark :-)

5Great batteries for "special" purposesMar 08, 2009
These lithium batteries are great. They are long lasting, lightweight and work great in freezing temperatures. Their "BEST BY" date is often ten years or more. If you have a device in a fridge or freezer or outside where it gets cold/freezing, then these are very useful since alkaline batteries will often fail in cold temperatures. They are also useful for devices that are inconvenient to change batteries, like clocks or wireless outdoor temperature or motion sensors. If you're wealthy, then you might as well use these instead of alkaline or rechargeables, but because of the relatively high cost, I only use these for "special" applications. Otherwise I use alkalines or Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries.
