 Grandkids loved the markersJul 12, 2010
I ordered these for vacation time, and the holder and markers were a hit. Kids ages 8 to 2 used them. They really like the way the holder telescoped.

Finally, an organized way to store markers! The durable container makes storing and transporting markers easy. My three kids set it up between them, and it makes it easy to share and find the desired color. It is wonderful to take on trips, or set out during gatherings. The kids are very good about sliding the markers back into the container after each use, probably because it is so easy. It keeps them all capped, in one place, and organized. The size is perfect for big kids and little kids alike. I'm definitely going to invest in the crayon tower, as well.
 Workaround for the collapsing towerJun 11, 2010
The size of the markers is great for my 3 yr old, but I bought marker and tower package so she could keep her markers organized. The tower doesn't stay up on its own. It's like selling a car that doesn't drive. It looks good if you don't touch it, but it doesn't work so it fails to deliver as advertised. Take a marker out or put one back and the tower drops - watch those fingers as the dropping lid can catch you! I don't understand why Crayola could not have made more travel to "lock" the tower upright or made some positive locking feature. It's as if they never even tested this product before manufacturing it. Hopefully Crayola fixes this in its next version. In order to keep the tower locked, I place binder clips in each of the plastic uprights. Then I squeeze the steel legs and remove them; otherwise, they get in the way of the markers. As such, it's a nuisance to store and take out the tower. Because of this workaround, I gave this product only 1 star. I suppose I have to provide my own horse to pull the new car too.

I bought it for my kid who is learning to color/write and its fun using these colors though we didn't use them yet but I had a similar small set of 10 colors and they should work the same (I guess). I gave 3 stars because they run out of ink quickly. I am not happy that Amazon charged me a lot of money. I bought 2 more boxes for less than $9 last week. Amazon first showed me this item for around $9 only but by the time I added it to cart and decided to checkout it was increased by $5. I had to buy it as I didn't want to go around and search but really, Amazon is not doing good. I notice almost every time I add an item to my cart and keep looking for other stuff to make purchase above $25 to qualify for frees hipping, but by the time I am ready to check out, they increase their prices. Its really very frustrating. I might stop shopping from Amazon. I think shopping at walmart/target is becoming more flexible and cheaper now a days with lots of great deals and flexibility of returns in store.
So Good Bye to Amazon.
