StainsFeb 10, 2010 I bought this for my 20-month-old, and I was unaware that the chalk stained. Go with sidewalk chalk.

NOT FOR CHALKBOARDS!!!!!Sep 28, 2009 JUST MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT GETTING THESE FOR YOUR CHALKBOARD! THEY ARE MEANT FOR PAPER PRODUCTS. THEY ARE SUPER OTHERWISE.

Good, but this is NOT for chalkboardsFeb 11, 2008 I bought this to use with my daughter's chalkboard, but it is only for use with paper. For paper it's a nice alternative to crayons, producing something between a crayon and an oil pastel (without the messiness of an oil pastel, something we parents of 2 year olds worry about). Just be aware that if you use it on a chalkboard, it will not erase. You'll need to scrub to remove it: I was able to get it off with Formula 409 and a good rubbing.
